Tyson Fury might get back in the ring soon. The former WBC champion has started talking about potential comeback fights, including a possible match with Zhilei Zhang.
Fury stepped away from boxing in January after losing twice to Oleksandr Usyk. Both fights, held in May and December 2024, went to the scorecards. Even though Fury claims he won both bouts, Usyk walked away as the undisputed heavyweight champion.
Usyk, who was already the undisputed cruiserweight champion, will face Daniel Dubois next. If he wins, he'll make history as the first boxer to be undisputed heavyweight champion twice.
Last week, Fury announced he wants to fight again. He's aiming for a third match with Usyk in April next year. Usyk seems open to the idea.
But there's a new twist. Zhang told Seconds Out that Fury has called him out:
"There were reports that Tyson Fury was speaking my name in front of the media, saying that I'll fight him in China. Let's go, I'll fight him in China."
Zhang likes the idea of fighting in his home country. He said, "Yeah, it's always been my dream." When asked about Fury's mind games, Zhang kept it simple: "I'm never a big talker, I talk with my fists."
It's not clear yet if Fury will jump straight into a big fight or take some warm-up matches first. Zhang knocked out Deontay Wilder not long ago, but he's had some tough losses lately. He lost on points to Joseph Parker and was stopped by Agit Kabayel in his last fight.
Fans will have to wait and see what 'The Gypsy King' decides to do next. Will he face Usyk, Zhang, or someone else? The heavyweight division is sure to heat up with Fury's return.
