The fight will take place on September 13, likely in Las Vegas, although the venue has not yet been officially confirmed. A press conference is scheduled for this month, at which the promotional start of the event will be presented, and Dana White will ultimately participate in it.
Crawford was previously the undisputed world champion in the super lightweight and welterweight divisions. The American has never boxed above the limit of the first middleweight, in which he has one professional fight.
For Crawford, this will likely be his farewell professional bout. Canelo, for his part, will have his second fight under the contract signed this year with Turki Al al-Sheikh.
