Sugar Ray Leonard and Roberto Duran, two boxing legends, have found common ground. They both think Sugar Ray Robinson is the best boxer ever.

Leonard and Duran know a thing or two about great boxing. They fought each other three times between 1980 and 1989, giving fans some unforgettable moments.

Their first fight happened in the summer of 1980. Duran beat Leonard and took his WBC welterweight title. It was Leonard's first loss as a pro.

Just a few months later, they fought again. This time, Leonard got his revenge in a fight that became famous as the 'No Mas' bout. Leonard forced Duran to quit in the 8th round.

Their last fight came in December 1989. Leonard won by unanimous decision and kept his WBC super-middleweight title.

Now, years after their rivalry, both fighters agree on who's the best. In a recent interview with Fight Hype, Leonard named his top three: Muhammad Ali, Sugar Ray Robinson, and Rocky Marciano.

Duran was even more direct. In a chat with ES News, he said:

"Sugar Ray Robinson, he's the best! Sugar Ray Robinson is the best!"

Robinson left a big mark on boxing. He was the welterweight champion for five years from 1946 to 1951. He also won the middleweight world title five times over nine years.

His skills were something special. He had speed, power, and incredible boxing ability. Out of his 200 fights, he won 174 of them.

It's clear why two of boxing's biggest names pick Robinson as the best ever. His record and skills have stood the test of time, impressing fighters from different eras.
