Jaime Munguia's recent victory over Bruno Surace on May 4 has come under scrutiny. The boxer tested positive for external testosterone metabolites in a doping test after the fight, raising questions about the legitimacy of his win.

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) notified Munguia about the presence of the banned substance in his 'Sample A'. Now, Munguia has 10 days to request an analysis of 'Sample B'. If the second test confirms the initial findings, Munguia could lose his victory over Surace and face a suspension of up to one year.

Oscar de la Hoya of Golden Boy Promotions expressed his shock at the news. He pointed to the responsibility of the trainer, saying:

"It's shocking. I have no comment on that. My question is, who is the trainer? If four of your fighters test positive for any reason, who is the trainer? The trainer is in charge of that and must look into everything, including the nutritionist and doctor. The trainer is responsible, but we will have to ask him."

Jeff Mayweather, Floyd Mayweather's uncle, called for strict action against the Canelo Team. He stated:

"The only way to stop him is for the commissions to do their job. But boxing is a business, and whoever makes money can do whatever they want."

Mayweather suggested a punishment of at least a year without income for those involved.

Canelo Alvarez, however, stood firmly behind Munguia and his team. At a press conference for his 'No Golf, No Life' charity golf event, Canelo said:

"Obviously, we are 100 percent behind Munguía. Only he knows what happened. People are obviously attacking Eddy. Eddy just trains him. Period. I told Eddy a while ago, 'When you take on a fighter, you have to give him everything: food, supplements, whatever it takes so that these things don't happen to you,' and they have happened. They blame it all on the Canelo Team."

Canelo added that he believes Munguia will clear things up soon and defended trainer Eddy Reynoso, stating that Reynoso is only dedicated to training.

The boxing world and social media have reacted with outrage, much of it directed at the Canelo team. As the situation unfolds, all eyes will be on the results of Munguia's 'Sample B' test, which will determine the next steps in this developing story.
