Tyson Fury wants to fight Oleksandr Usyk again. The retired heavyweight champion said he'll come back to the ring, but only if the fight happens in the UK.
Fury hung up his gloves in early January after losing twice to Usyk in Saudi Arabia last year. The Ukrainian took Fury's WBC belt in their first fight and then unified the titles, except for the IBF, when he beat Fury again in December.
Many people didn't believe Fury when he said he was done with boxing. It's not the first time he's walked away from the sport only to return. Now, it looks like those doubters might be right.
"Beat the f***er 2 times and the world knows the truth. Anytime any place [sucker]. UK next time, 100k people."
Fury's words show he's ready to fight. He's even been spotted training with his coach SugarHill Steward, adding fuel to the comeback rumors.
But Usyk's got other plans right now. He's getting ready to fight Daniel Dubois in July. It's a rematch of their August 2023 bout, which Usyk won by knockout. This time, the IBF title is on the line, and Usyk wants to become the undisputed heavyweight champ.
Even so, Usyk's made it clear he's got his eye on Fury. He said recently:
"I have two options. Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury, [I would prefer] Tyson Fury."
With both fighters showing interest, we might see Fury vs Usyk 3 sooner rather than later. But first, Usyk needs to get past Dubois, and Fury needs to officially come out of retirement. The boxing world will be watching closely to see what happens next.
