"I think you gotta lean more towards Canelo, cause like I said before he's been putting big guys out and Canelo's not even really a 168 pounder, he probably really should be at 160 maybe, and he's been hurting these guys."
Ennis believes Crawford made a mistake by not getting a feel for the higher weight class first. He suggested that 'Bud' should have taken a fight at 160lbs or at least faced someone a bit bigger to prepare for Canelo.
The Mexican superstar has certainly proven his power at super middleweight. He's stopped several opponents who were naturally bigger than him, which has impressed Ennis and made him favor Canelo in this matchup.
Before facing Crawford, Canelo will defend his IBF super middleweight title against William Scull on May 3 in Riyadh. A win there will make him a two-time undisputed champion at 168lbs and set the stage for the showdown with Crawford.
