Gervonta Davis faces an uncertain future in boxing after a controversial draw with Lamont Roach Jr. The fight, which took place in March 2025, left fans and experts puzzled about what's next for the fighter known as "Tank."

During the match, Davis put his knee on the canvas and wiped his eyes, claiming there was grease on his face. Referee Steve Willis didn't count it as a knockdown, sparking debate among viewers. Many believed Roach Jr. should have won the fight.

The New York State Athletic Commission couldn't change the outcome, despite the controversy. This decision has set off a chain of events that's left Davis' career hanging in the balance.

Before the fight, Davis said 2025 would be his last year as an active boxer. Now, he's keeping quiet about retiring. His social media accounts, usually full of revealing posts, have gone silent.

Kenny Ellis, Davis' trainer, shared some insights in an interview with MillCity Boxing.

"Tank is not told when to move. But that's boxing. Anything can happen. You never know... Tank might retire, man. You have to wait and see what he does. Whatever Tank does, I'll respect it. If he goes on, he has my support. If he retires, he has my support."

There's talk of a rematch with Roach Jr. this summer, but nothing's set in stone. Ellis also mentioned a potential fight against Shakur Stevenson, though he didn't give any details.

All this uncertainty has fans on edge. They're eager to know what's next for the boxer who's captivated audiences with his skill and power in the ring. For now, it seems everyone will have to wait and see what Davis decides to do next.
