"I want to fight Dubois, but no matter what happens in this fight, it will be my last fight in my career," assured Dereck Chisora (36-13, 23 KOs).
One of the toughest men in the business, the veteran, who is preparing for his 50th fight, hopes to say goodbye to his fans by fighting for the world heavyweight title for the third time. He previously lost to Vitali Klitschko on points and Tyson Fury early in the 10th round. Chisora now has his sights set on IBF champion Daniel Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs).
"I really want this fight, I really want it. But whether I get a title fight now or not, whether I win the championship belt, I'm going to retire from the sport at the end of this year. Nothing is going to change my plans. Even if I become the heavyweight champion of the world, I will still retire. I made a fifty-fight deal with my wife, and she bluntly told me that if I have even one more fight after the 50th, she will leave me. You can't keep saying "one last time" because then you get in trouble. So this next fight is my last dance. We'll see what happens, but I'd really like to fight Dubois for his IBF belt. Today he is trained by my old trainer, I would end my career with this performance and it would be a great story. And I'm sure the fight itself would be very interesting," stated Chisora.
