Shakur Stevenson thinks Lamont Roach Jr will beat Gervonta Davis in their expected rematch this summer. The WBC lightweight champion shared his prediction following the pair's controversial first meeting in March at Barclays Center, New York.

Davis defended his WBA lightweight title against Roach Jr earlier this year, but the result left many fans unsatisfied. The judges scored the fight 115-113 for Davis and two 114-114 draws. A key moment came in the ninth round when Davis took a knee, but no knockdown was scored. If it had been, a 10-8 round for Roach would have changed the outcome.

Stevenson, who stopped Josh Padley in February, has been linked with a fight against Davis for years. He shared his thoughts on the rematch in an interview with K.O. Artist Sports.

"I like Lamont in the rematch."

The champion explained his reasoning, citing his experience sparring with Roach and helping him prepare for the Oscar Valdez fight.

"They're both good fighters, and it's going to be a hell of a fight, truthfully they both good fighters."

Stevenson didn't see anything new from Davis in the first bout.

"It was the same Tank we've seen throughout his entire career, he's the same fighter and he'll be the same throughout his career"

While the rematch hasn't been officially announced, it's expected to take place this summer. Stevenson has also claimed he'd be willing to face Roach next.

The first Davis vs Roach fight was close and controversial, setting the stage for what could be an even more intense rematch. With Stevenson's prediction adding fuel to the fire, fans will be eager to see if Roach can upset Davis in their second meeting.
