Daniel Dubois, the 27-year-old IBF Heavyweight World Champion, has got lots of fighters wanting a shot at his title. His recent wins have made him a hot target in the heavyweight division.
Dubois has been on a roll in the last year and a half. He knocked out Anthony Joshua, a former two-time world champion, in just five rounds last September. Before that, he finished Fillip Hrgovic early after a tough start. And in December, he showed his grit by weathering a storm against Jarrell Miller before stopping him in the 10th round.
The champ was set to fight Joseph Parker in February, but a virus kept him out of the ring. Now, he's looking at his next move.
One guy who's keen to step up is Bakhodir Jalolov. The 30-year-old Uzbek fighter has a perfect pro record with 14 wins, all by knockout. He's also got some serious amateur credentials, with three Olympic gold medals to his name.
"I'm ready now. Give me three months, I will be ready," Jalolov told BoxNation in a recent interview.
But this fight might not happen just yet. There's not much in it for Dubois right now.
Other options for Dubois include a rematch with Anthony Joshua or a shot at becoming the undisputed champion against Oleksandr Usyk. These fights could be more appealing for the young champ.
There's also Joseph Parker to consider. He's the WBO Interim Champion and the mandatory challenger. The WBO has ordered him to fight Usyk, but he might need to step aside if Dubois and Usyk want to fight for all the belts.
Jalolov has even hinted at possibly returning to the Olympics in 2028, showing he's got options too.
Dubois has proved he's a force to be reckoned with in the heavyweight division. His next move will be crucial in cementing his place at the top of the boxing world.
