Gervonta Davis' Unexpected Result Against Lamont Roach Jr. Leaves Fans Calling For "Justice"

The first bout didn't go as planned. Roach's team wasn't happy with the result and asked the New York State Athletic Commission to change it. The commission said no, but they did admit the referee made a mistake in the ninth round.

Roach hasn't been quiet about wanting another shot. He's been pushing for it on social media and even put down a $250,000 bet on himself for the rematch. His promoter, Gary Jonas, says they're close to making it happen.

Jonas told reporters:

"The rematch is very close. In my mind, it's a done deal. We just need to sort out some details."

Davis, known as "Tank," hasn't said much about the rematch. He's been hinting at retirement, but this unfinished business might keep him in the ring. Jonas thinks we'll see a different Davis next time:

"Davis is probably gonna be angry, probably more woken up, probably more focused than he had been."

Both fighters want to settle the score. They're aiming for a date at the end of May, but nothing's set in stone yet. Fans are excited, but they'll have to wait and see if the deal gets signed.

The boxing world expected fireworks from the first fight, and now the anticipation is even higher. Everyone's waiting to see if Davis and Roach can deliver the knockout that eluded them last time.
