Shelley Finkel told World Boxing News that the April fight between Deontay Wilder (43-4-1, 42 KOs) and Curtis Harper (18-11, 12 KOs) will not take place after all. However, the manager of "The Bronze Bomber" did not reveal further sports plans of his ward.
Wilder, 39, last boxed in June last year, losing by knockout to Zhang Zhilei. Earlier, the American lost on points to Joseph Parker.
The former WBC heavyweight champion has been recovering from hand surgery in recent months, but reports have recently surfaced that he has resumed training and signed a contract to fight Harper, which takes place on April 26. According to Finkel, that contract is no longer valid.
