Keyshawn Davis wants to fight Gervonta 'Tank' Davis. The young boxer says he'll knock out the undefeated champion if they meet in the ring.
'Tank' Davis has an impressive record of 30 wins, with 28 by knockout. He's become one of boxing's biggest stars with his fan-friendly style of stalking opponents and finishing them when they make mistakes. But some critics say he hasn't fought enough top-level opponents and has been inactive at times.
Keyshawn Davis, a 25-year-old undefeated fighter nicknamed "The Businessman," isn't shy about his chances against Davis. In an interview with Mill City Boxing, Davis boldly stated:
"I feel like I'm gonna get all my respect when I knock Tank out. This is not going the distance, I'mma knock him out … I'm me. That's why I believe it. I got that one-punch s**t. Stop playing with me. People are like, 'oh he's cocky, he's a kid.' Okay. Bro a great fighter at the end of the day. He's nice, but I'm nice too … What do I bring that he don't bring? That's kinda like the game plan."
Keyshawn Davis doesn't want 'Tank' to retire before they can fight. He said, "If you retire I ain't gonna f**k with you no more. You're done, cool. But until you do that, I'm on your ass boy." Davis also called for action, saying, "If you're gonna fight me, bro, just send me a contract."
Both fighters have big fights coming up. Keyshawn Davis will face Denys Berinchyk for the WBO World Lightweight Championship on February 14. This fight could set him up for a showdown with 'Tank' Davis. Meanwhile, Gervonta Davis will defend his WBA belt against Lamont Roach Jr on March 1.
Keyshawn Davis has a big supporter in promoter Bob Arum. Arum believes Davis could be the next face of boxing, comparing him to the legendary 'Sugar' Ray Leonard.
If Keyshawn Davis wins the WBO title, we might see a unification bout between these two talented fighters. For now, boxing fans will have to wait and see if this exciting matchup comes to fruition.
