Lopez made his intentions clear in a recent interview with TKO Boxing. He's got his sights set on proving he's the best in the business.
"The only way I can show the world that I'm the best is by facing the best. My main goal depends on Canelo and Bud, as I would love to fight Crawford as well. He is one of the top pound-for-pound fighters of these time, and I want to show the world why he's not in my eyes."
This challenge comes as Crawford and Canelo reportedly agreed to a mega fight later this year. Crawford will move up several weight classes to face the unified super-middleweight champion. A win for Crawford would be huge, possibly making him the top pound-for-pound fighter.
There's already bad blood between Lopez and Crawford. Last September, the two had to be pulled apart during a scuffle at the Canelo vs. Edgar Berlanga fight.
Lopez's next move isn't clear. He recently tried to set up a fight with Subriel Matias, but those talks fell through. Now, he's aiming for the biggest names in the sport.
Whether Crawford will take Lopez up on his challenge remains to be seen. For now, all eyes are on the potential Crawford-Canelo showdown.
