Evander Holyfield thinks Tyson Fury would win if he fought Anthony Joshua. The boxing legend shared his thoughts on the match-up many fans still hope to see this year.
For years, boxing fans have wanted to see these two British heavyweights face off. But both fighters have hit some bumps in the road lately. Joshua got knocked out by IBF champ Daniel Dubois in September. He's trying to become a three-time world heavyweight champion. Fury, on the other hand, lost for the second time in a row to Oleksandr Usyk.
Even though neither fighter holds a belt right now, a match between them would still be huge. It's all about pride, legacy, and British bragging rights. After their recent losses, you'd think this fight would be the next logical step. But there's a catch - Fury said he's retiring from boxing earlier this week. Then again, he's "retired" several times before, only to come back.
Holyfield shared his thoughts on the potential fight in an interview with Fight Hub TV. He said:
"That would be a good fight. Both guys fight pretty much the same but I think Tyson, Tyson Fury, he's a type of guy who can make an adjustment and out think him."
Holyfield thinks both fighters have similar styles. But he gives Fury the edge because he can adjust his strategy and outsmart his opponent.
We'll have to wait and see if Fury sticks to his retirement plans this time. Many boxing fans are still holding out hope that we'll see Fury vs Joshua in the ring this year.
