Oleksandr Usyk has changed his mind about who will win if Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua fight. The Ukrainian boxer now thinks Fury will come out on top.
Usyk knows both fighters well. He beat Joshua twice to win and then keep the unified heavyweight world titles. He also fought Fury twice, winning a split decision in their first clash for the undisputed crown and then a unanimous decision in their rematch last December.
Right after his second win against Fury, Usyk told Boxing King Media he thought Joshua might win on points if the two Brits fought. But he's had a change of heart. In a more recent chat with IFL TV, Usyk picked Fury (who he calls 'Greedy Belly') to win, though he added that maybe Joshua could pull it off.
Right now, both Fury and Joshua are out of the world title picture. They're expected to start talking about a fight that's been held up for years.
Fury's last fight was a tough 12 rounds against Usyk. Joshua, on the other hand, lost to Daniel Dubois in five rounds back in August. In their own return fight last December, Fury, like his countryman, failed to reverse the result and lost by a clearer unanimous decision.
Fury's taking some time off after a disappointing 2024. Joshua's all in to make the fight happen. They might even agree to fight twice.
