Sparring Partner Reveals Surprising Weakness in Canelo-Crawford Matchup: "One of them can't be hurt"

Kyrone Davis, a middleweight contender, thinks Canelo Alvarez will probably beat Terence Crawford if they fight. Davis has sparred with both fighters, so he knows what he's talking about.

Not many boxers have faced both Canelo and Crawford in the ring. Amir Khan is the only one who's fought them both professionally, and he lost to both by knockout.

Davis shared his thoughts on the potential matchup in an interview with MillCity Boxing. He's got some experience to back up his opinion, having fought David Benavidez in November 2021.

"Canelo is a big guy. It's going to be a lot. He can take a punch so you're not going to hurt Canelo. I don't think Crawford can hurt him with one punch, maybe he can cut an eye or something or bother him to the body."

Davis believes Crawford will have a tough time against Canelo. He thinks Crawford needs to land some solid body shots to have a chance.

"He has to get some flesh on gloves and go to the body, it's going to be a tall task. Canelo can really fight. He has moves and traps. It's not easy. In boxing nothing is impossible, but if I had to bet I'd put money on Canelo."

Canelo's size advantage could be a big factor, according to Davis. He thinks it might even lead to Canelo stopping Crawford.

"I'm not taking anything away from Crawford, but Canelo is great. Can Canelo stop him? He's a bigger guy. I think one punch can do it."

We don't know for sure if this fight will happen. Canelo might end up facing someone else instead. But if it does happen, Davis's insider perspective gives us a good idea of what to expect.
