Daniel Dubois shocked the boxing world in September when he knocked out Anthony Joshua at Wembley Stadium. The upset came in Dubois' first defense of the IBF heavyweight title after being elevated from interim champion over the summer.
Dubois dominated the fight, dropping Joshua multiple times before stopping him in the fifth round. The victory was even more surprising given that Joshua entered the bout as the clear favorite.
After the fight, fans expected an immediate rematch. But those plans fell through, with Joshua reportedly dealing with lingering injuries that have kept him out of the ring.
With Joshua out of the picture, Dubois has moved on to his next challenge. He'll face Joseph Parker in Saudi Arabia this February on a card headlined by the undisputed light-heavyweight title rematch between Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol.
Dubois hasn't been shy about poking fun at Joshua's absence since their fight. When asked about AJ recently, Dubois delivered a three-word dig to The Guardian:
"Where is he?"
The new champ also called out fans who he feels haven't accepted him as the top heavyweight:
"I keep seeing people crying over AJ's loss rather than celebrating the new king. Come on people! It's almost like someone has died and the country has gone into mourning. It was like a member of the royal family died."
Dubois doubled down on mocking Joshua's disappearance from the boxing scene:
"I don't know if everyone else saw it, but I did. Everyone is always talking about AJ. I can't find him. I think I put him in a retirement home."
With Joshua out of action for now, Dubois and Parker have already met face-to-face ahead of their upcoming showdown. The new champ will look to build on his huge victory at Wembley Stadium and cement his place atop the heavyweight division.
