The two sides can't agree on a replacement judge, leaving the situation at a standstill. But that's not the only issue causing friction between the camps.
Fury's team has pushed for clarity on what counts as a low blow. They want to make sure there's no confusion like in Usyk's fight with Daniel Dubois. Frank Warren, representing Fury's camp, explained their stance:
"Anything below the navel is a low blow and a lot of fighters wear their shorts higher and that sometimes leads to what you could say confusion, as happened with Usyk and Daniel Dubois."
The Brit's team also asked for a ban on foreign objects in the corners. This request comes after Usyk kissed a cross before putting on an impressive performance in their first fight. Warren shed light on their concerns:
"After the fight there was a lot of speculation, they weren't sure what it was. We just cut through it all. If there's anything that is used other than water that goes to the fighter's lips, then the inspector will take it away and hold it and if anything is seen to be not correct then they'll deal with it, test it, whatever that may be, what they have to do."
These rule clarifications aim to prevent controversies and ensure a fair fight. With Fury likely to target Usyk's body, the low blow definition becomes crucial.
