Daniel Dubois and Oleksandr Usyk met again in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for the first time since their controversial fight in 2023. The encounter happened just days before Usyk's rematch with Tyson Fury.
Dubois and Usyk shook hands, and Dubois said, "Me and you next." This brief exchange was captured on video by Box Nation.
The last time these two fighters faced each other was in Poland in 2023. Usyk won that fight by a ninth-round stoppage, but it wasn't without controversy. In the fifth round, Dubois sent Usyk to the canvas with a punch that was ruled a low blow. Opinions are still divided on whether it was a fair call.
Since that fight, both boxers have seen success. Usyk became the undisputed champion after beating Tyson Fury. He's set to face Fury again this weekend in Riyadh.
Dubois has been on a roll too. He's won three fights since facing Usyk, including victories over Jarrell Miller and Filip Hrgovic. The IBF upgraded him to World Champion, and he defended his title by knocking out Anthony Joshua in five rounds.
Dubois will defend his title again on February 22 against Joseph Parker. But it looks like he's already thinking about a rematch with Usyk. With Usyk facing Fury this weekend, Dubois might be eyeing a fight with the winner of that bout.
