Oleksandr Usyk will beat Tyson Fury in their December 21st rematch, according to former cruiserweight world champion Tony Bellew. The two heavyweights are set to clash again after Usyk's victory in May.
Bellew, who faced Usyk in the ring himself, shared his thoughts on the upcoming fight with FighLens.
"I've said before I'll say it again, I just can't see past Oleksandr Usyk. I think the guy is an absolute machine."
The former cruiserweight champ acknowledged Fury's physical advantages but still favors Usyk.
"Don't get me wrong, at Tyson Fury's size and weight he shouldn't lose, if I'm being totally honest, with advantages like that you shouldn't lose. But if anyone was going to beat him it was Oleksandr Usyk."
Usyk, the former undisputed cruiserweight champion, has cleaned out the heavyweight division and now holds all the belts. He's even talking about going back down to cruiserweight to regain his undisputed crown there.
Bellew knows firsthand how tough Usyk can be. The Ukrainian knocked him out in the eighth round of their cruiserweight clash. Bellew started well but got tired from Usyk's constant pressure.
In their first fight, Fury got into trouble in the ninth round after taking clean shots. The referee chose not to stop the fight, a decision Bellew thinks saved Fury.
"Fortunate is an understatement. He literally saved his bacon in that round, he saved his backside, he really did. We'll get all the answers on December 21st. Is Oleksandr Usyk going to cap off an unbelievable career and walk off into the sunset or is he going to falter and lose that winning streak?"
If Fury, known as "The Gypsy King," wins, he'll likely push for a trilogy fight with Usyk. But based on Bellew's prediction, that might not happen.
The rematch on December 21st will settle the score between these two heavyweight giants. Will Usyk prove Bellew right, or will Fury use his size advantage to even the series? We'll find out soon enough.
