Edgar Berlanga (22-1, 17 KOs) will fight his next professional fight on March 8 at Matchroom Boxing in Puerto Rico. The name of his opponent has not yet been confirmed.
The 27-year-old will return to the ring for the first time since his defeat to Saul Alvarez this September. It was the first defeat for the New York-born fighter in the professional ring.
Berlanga is scheduled to fight Caleb Plant next year, but that fight is scheduled for the second half of the year. Berlanga has had two fights in 2024. Prior to facing Alvarez, he easily dealt with Irishman Padraig McCrory in February.
