George Foreman, a boxing legend, says Tyson Fury is the only current fighter he'd avoid. Foreman shared this opinion in a recent chat with Greatest Hits Radio.
Foreman's boxing career is filled with big moments. He grabbed an Olympic gold medal in Mexico City in 1968. Five years later, at just 24, he knocked out the unbeaten Joe Frazier in the second round to become world heavyweight champ.
In 1974, Foreman lost his title to Muhammad Ali in the famous "Rumble in the Jungle". He stepped away from boxing in 1977 but made a comeback ten years later. At 46 years and 169 days old, he became the oldest world heavyweight champion ever in 1994.
When asked about today's fighters, Foreman had this to say on Greatest Hits Radio:
"Some of the great giants like Tyson Fury – I sure wouldn't want to fight him. No, no no, there are some big old tough guys out there, I'm just glad they weren't in my lifetime of boxing."
Fury, the fighter Foreman wouldn't want to face, recently lost his first pro fight. He dropped a split decision to Oleksandr Usyk in May after a close, back-and-forth battle.
Fury will get another shot at Usyk on December 21 in Saudi Arabia. The WBC, WBO, and WBA belts will be on the line in this rematch.
