Crawford, known as 'Bud', has an impressive record of 41 wins and no losses, with 31 of those victories coming by stoppage. He's currently the WBA super-welterweight champion and has held world titles from lightweight all the way up to welterweight. He's even managed to become undisputed at both 140 and 147 pounds.
Ennis, nicknamed 'Boots', is also undefeated with a record of 32-0. He's stopped 29 of his opponents and currently holds the IBF welterweight title. At 26 years old, he's seen as a fresher, younger fighter compared to Crawford.
Greaves shared his thoughts on the two fighters, noting some key differences in their approaches:
"Ennis is the more busy, more active fighter. Crawford is very patient. Crawford hits harder than Ennis. Crawford is the heavier handed fighter, but Ennis is sharper and busier."
Crawford's patience and power seem to be his standout qualities. He's known for his good timing and well-planned attacks. On the other hand, Ennis brings a more active, busy style to the ring.
Avanesyan faced Crawford in December 2022, losing by stoppage in the sixth round. He then fought Ennis in July 2024 and was defeated inside five rounds.
Crawford recently picked up the WBA super-welterweight title, but lost his IBF welterweight strap. Ennis grabbed that vacant title, solidifying his position in the division.
Ennis will defend his IBF welterweight title against mandatory challenger Karen Chukhadzhian on November 9. The fight will give fans another chance to see 'Boots' in action and compare his style to Crawford's.
Both Crawford and Ennis have proven themselves as top welterweights. Their different styles and strengths make for an interesting comparison, and fans will no doubt be eager to see how they continue to perform in their upcoming fights.
