Tyson Fury's trainer, SugarHill Steward, says he didn't hear any mixed messages in the corner during Fury's fight with Oleksandr Usyk. The British heavyweight lost a close decision to Usyk in their undisputed clash in May.
Many people thought Fury's corner gave him confusing advice in the later rounds. This led to calls for changes in Fury's team before the rematch.
But SugarHill told Seconds Out he wasn't aware of any issues:
"I didn't hear any conflicting instructions. I've got tunnel vision. I'm only focused on Tyson Fury. I haven't even watched the fight yet."
The first fight was close throughout. Usyk won by a narrow points decision, but both fighters had a chance of victory until the final bell.
Camera footage seemed to show different instructions coming from SugarHill, Andy Lee, and John Fury in Tyson's corner. This led to criticism from boxing experts who felt the confusion hurt Fury's chances.
Fury has always backed his team. He says they'll stay exactly the same for the rematch on December 21 in Saudi Arabia.
SugarHill's comments show he's unaware of any issues. He hasn't watched the fight back yet, so he can't confirm or deny if there was confusion in the corner.
