Sydney Sweeney has transformed her appearance for her role as boxer Christy Martin in an upcoming biopic. The actress gained muscle and changed her look to portray the famous 90s women's boxer.
Sweeney's recent Instagram posts have gotten a lot of attention. She shared a photo of herself on a boat with the caption "I think they call this a thirst trap," which got people talking. But it's her latest transformation that's really turning heads. The Cut described Sweeney as looking "jacked" and unrecognizable in her new role.
The untitled Christy Martin biopic is currently filming under the direction of David Michôd, known for "Animal Kingdom." Sweeney spoke about her preparation for the role:

"I've immersed myself in training to bring to life the story of an incredible woman. Christy Martin is a true champion who fought battles both inside and outside the ring. Her journey is a testament to resilience, strength, and hope. I'm honored to step into her shoes and share her powerful story."
Sweeney has made a name for herself with roles in "Euphoria" as troubled teen Cassie and in "The White Lotus" as acerbic rich-kid Olivia Mossbacher. She's also starred in the romantic comedy "Anyone But You," the horror film "Immaculate," and the American crime drama "Reality."
The actress has been open about her frustrations with media and paparazzi treatment. She attributes much of the attention to constant conversations about her body. Sweeney shared a disturbing incident at her Florida home:
"If you tell her to just come outside in a bikini, I'll take pictures, and then I'll leave you alone."
She expressed concern about her safety, saying, "Everyone knows where I am. Now there's boats that go by, I literally hear them say 'That's Sydney Sweeney's house.'"
Sweeney has felt overlooked for her "Euphoria" performance due to topless scenes. She said, "I don't think as many people took me seriously in Euphoria because I took my shirt off." Ironically, she received acclaim for "The White Lotus" despite "Euphoria's" emotional demands.
The Christy Martin role gives Sweeney a chance to show herself in a new light. She explained:
"Christy's story shines a light on her incredible rise to the top while showing the struggles of fame behind the curtains. I was compelled to tell a story about a woman who faced so much adversity and didn't allow it to defeat her."
Fans hope this role will showcase Sweeney's acting talent in a non-sexualized way and become an iconic performance for her career.
