Undefeated Champion Issues Bold Challenge to Artur Beterbiev: "I Always Win"

None

Artur Beterbiev has become boxing's newest undisputed champion. The Russian-born, Canadian-based fighter defeated his countryman Dmitry Bivol in a close light heavyweight title fight.

Beterbiev entered the ring with an impressive 20-0 record and a perfect knockout percentage. The fight didn't follow his usual script, though. Bivol won many of the early rounds in plenty of people's eyes. As the fight progressed, Beterbiev rallied and applied his famous pressure.

The judges ultimately saw it for Beterbiev. He won by decision, making Bivol the first opponent to take him the full distance. With this victory, Beterbiev now holds all four major world title belts in the light heavyweight division.

The close and entertaining nature of the fight has already sparked calls for a rematch. However, Beterbiev might have to deal with some mandatory defenses first. The IBF has ordered him to face Michael Eifert, a little-known challenger.

Another potential opponent is lurking on the horizon. David Benavidez, a two-time super middleweight champion and current WBC interim light heavyweight belt holder, has his eyes on Beterbiev. In an interview with ESNEWS, Benavidez said:

"I know that's possible and I can accomplish that. I beat all of them, I find ways to win, that's what makes me so dangerous, I can break down any type of style."

Before any potential showdown with Beterbiev, Benavidez has business to attend to. He's expected to announce a fight with David Morrell soon. The outcome of that bout will likely influence the future landscape of the light heavyweight division.

For now, Beterbiev stands alone at the top of the 175-pound weight class. His journey to undisputed status has been marked by dominance and power. The question now is: who will step up to challenge boxing's newest king of the light heavyweights?
