Claressa Shields Names Surprise Fighter as Canelo's Kryptonite: "He's Got the Style"

None

Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez has only lost twice in 66 professional fights and has never been knocked down. The Mexican superstar has been at the top of the sport for nearly two decades.

Canelo's recent run includes five straight points victories over big names like Gennady Golovkin, John Ryder, Jermell Charlo, Jaime Munguia, and Edgar Berlanga. His impressive record speaks for itself.

The super middleweight champ has only tasted defeat twice in his career. Floyd Mayweather got the better of him back in 2013, and Dmitry Bivol handed him a loss when Canelo moved up to light heavyweight in 2022.

Multi-weight champion Claressa Shields recently shared her thoughts on potential opponents for Canelo. She told FightHub TV:

"David [Benavidez] is a different type of animal, it's a fight I wanna see. But I still think the only man that can beat Canelo is Terence Crawford. That's just what I think and I want to see it."

Benavidez has been chasing a fight with Canelo at super-middleweight for a while now. He's recently moved up to light heavyweight after getting frustrated waiting for his shot.

'Bud' Crawford, a four-division champ, wants to move up two more weight classes to challenge Canelo. At first, Canelo dismissed the idea. But with his list of potential opponents getting shorter, he might have to give it some serious thought.

A rematch with Dmitry Bivol looks unlikely now. Bivol recently lost to Artur Beterbiev, and there's talk of an immediate rematch between those two.

Canelo now says he'll entertain any offers. With his options narrowing, a showdown with Crawford could be on the cards. It's a fight that's got fans and experts alike talking, and it could be just what Canelo needs to cement his legacy even further.
