Tyson Fury Makes Stunning U-Turn on Former Rival: "I've Changed My Mind"

Tyson Fury has changed his mind about fighting Joseph Parker. The heavyweight champion now says he's open to facing his close friend and gym buddy if it means a big payday for Parker.

Just over a year ago, Fury was dead set against the idea. He told Jai McAllister: BOXING + MMA:

"Definitely not. No. I'd rather give him the belt than fight him for it. We're too close for that fight, and there's plenty of heavyweights out there. I don't want to get beat up, sorry."

But now, 'The Gypsy King' has softened his stance. In a recent interview with Pro Boxing Fans, Fury said:

"Joseph Parker, Well listen, if it's going to make him life changing money and help his family and kids I'm sure he will."

Fury's change of heart comes after a busy year for both fighters. In May, Fury lost to Oleksandr Usyk in Saudi Arabia, his first career defeat in 36 professional fights. He's set to face Usyk again in December after activating the rematch clause in their contract.

Parker, on the other hand, is on a hot streak. The former WBO heavyweight champion scored back-to-back wins over Deontay Wilder and Zhilei Zhang, putting him in a good position for a title shot in 2025.

Fury's willingness to fight Parker adds another name to his list of potential future opponents, which already includes Anthony Joshua, Daniel Dubois, and Zhilei Zhang.

The 'Gypsy King' has had a remarkable career, from his upset victory over Wladimir Klitschko in Germany in 2015 to his thrilling trilogy with Deontay Wilder in America. His journey back to the top after struggling with mental health issues and addiction has made him a fan favorite.

As for Parker, he's been Fury's gym buddy and close friend for years. His recent performances have shown he's in the form of his life, making a potential clash with Fury an intriguing prospect for boxing fans.
