Martin Bakole (21-1, 16 KOs) makes the allegations, while Zhang Zhilei (27-2-1, 22 KOs) denies them and claims that he has not received any offer for the fight from a potential opponent.
"I'm in Congo training for the fight with Zhilei, but, I recently heard he forgot about our fight and finally gave up on it. Stop running around already! I know your team is trying to protect you from me, so I'm fully focused on the fight with Kabayel right now," Bakole stated.
"Although I was expecting an offer to fight Bakole, my team never got it. However, we learned that it will probably go in a different direction, so now we are looking at another opportunity. I will have big news soon," the Chinese puncher responded to this.
"There was talk about such a fight a while ago, but we never received any offers. We would just like to clear things up," added Terry Lane, Zhilei's manager.
Recall that Bakole recently received an offer for the IBF Eliminator, in which he is scheduled to face Agit Kabayel (25-0, 17 KOs).
