Anthony Joshua is weighing his options after losing to IBF Champion Daniel Dubois in a world heavyweight title fight at Wembley Stadium in September.
Joshua's team currently sees an immediate rematch with Dubois as the top priority. But other possibilities are on the table too.
A fight with Tyson Fury doesn't seem likely. Hall of Fame inductee Barry McGuigan doesn't think it's worth much for Joshua's legacy, especially if Oleksandr Usyk beats Fury again.
McGuigan also doesn't see much value in a bout with Deontay Wilder. He considers Wilder "shot" and believes the fight wouldn't mean much for Joshua's legacy.
In his column for The Mirror, McGuigan actually suggests retirement as the best option for Joshua. He points to the physical wear and tear from heavy losses and the mental impact they've had. McGuigan thinks there's an increased risk of Joshua repeating the same outcome if he continues.
"Joshua has earned the right to try to set the record straight if he wishes,"McGuigan wrote, acknowledging Joshua's right to make his own decision.
Interestingly, McGuigan's son Shane, who trained Dubois for two years, recommends a rematch with Dubois for Joshua.
Joshua got stopped in the fifth round by Dubois in their September clash at Wembley Stadium. The fight was Joshua's attempt to regain a world heavyweight title.
A decision on Joshua's next move is expected soon, with a rematch against Dubois still the frontrunner.
