Former World Champ Exposes Canelo's True Feelings About Crawford: "He's Avoiding Him"

Amir Khan thinks Canelo Alvarez is dodging a fight with Terence Crawford. The former world champion, who's fought both men, shared his thoughts on the much-talked-about matchup.

Crawford recently moved up to 154lbs and won the WBA super-welterweight title against Israil Madrimov. This win got fans excited about a possible clash with Canelo, the 168lb champion who holds the WBA, WBC, and WBO super-middleweight belts.

But the fight hasn't happened yet. Turki Alalshikh from Riyadh Season said they're not chasing it because Canelo didn't want to talk before his fight with Edgar Berlanga. Canelo won that fight and kept his titles.

Khan shared his view on the situation in an interview with Boxing News. He praised Crawford for being willing to move up in weight:

"It's going to be a great test for Crawford. Both fighters have been looking amazing so I think it's an amazing fight. Respect to him for jumping up and taking that fight because he doesn't need to. He can still make big money fighting elsewhere."

But Khan didn't hold back when it came to Canelo:

"It seems to me that Canelo is scared and doesn't want to fight him. All these excuses he's coming out with. But to be honest with you what a fight it would be."

Khan knows both fighters well. He lost to Canelo in 2016 and to Crawford in 2019, both times by stoppage. His experience gives weight to his opinion on this potential matchup.

While fans wait to see if Canelo and Crawford will face off, Canelo seems to have other plans. He's looking at a rematch with Dmitry Bivol in 2025, though it's not clear if Bivol is interested.

For now, the boxing world will keep guessing about whether we'll see Canelo vs Crawford in the ring.
