Roy Jones Jr Predicts Gervonta Davis vs Shakur Stevenson Winner: "It's Not Even Close"

Gervonta Davis and Shakur Stevenson might face off in 2025. The two undefeated American lightweight champions missed a chance to fight recently, but fans still want to see this match-up.

Stevenson just signed with Eddie Hearn's Matchroom and has put Davis third on his list of wanted opponents. The fight would be a clash of styles. Davis looks for early finishes, while Stevenson uses slick boxing to win on points.

Roy Jones Jr., a retired multi-weight world champion, shared his thoughts on the potential fight in an interview. He sees it as a toss-up, with the outcome depending on style and adjustments.

"Boxing's about who fights what fight. What style of fight Tank wants to fight. He got one style he can definitely dominate [with], one style that would be questionable. Shakur got one style that [means] he could dominate, one that would be questionable."

Jones added:

"It depend on which style those guys try to fight each other. One does one thing and the other doesn't know how to adjust to it then he's gonna win … When you got fighters that good it's all about who got the right game plan and who can make the adjustments."

Jones thinks Stevenson still has room to grow but will be a great fighter. He rates Davis as one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world, praising his mix of power and skill.

Before any potential showdown, both fighters have other business to handle. Stevenson will face Joe Cordina on October 12 in his first lightweight bout. Cordina is a two-time super-featherweight world champion, making this a tough test for Stevenson.

Davis might fight in November, but no opponent has been named yet. There's a chance his next fight could be pushed to early next year.

The boxing world will keep a close eye on both fighters as they move towards what could be a big showdown in 2025. With their contrasting styles and undefeated records, Davis vs Stevenson would be a fight to remember.
