Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, two of Britain's top boxers, haven't stepped into the ring together yet. But fans have waited a long time for this match-up.
The fight hasn't happened for a few reasons. Fury had to finish his contract with Deontay Wilder, which meant a third fight between them. This obligation kept Fury from facing Joshua earlier. Then, Joshua lost twice to Oleksandr Usyk, which put the all-British showdown on the back burner.
Things have changed recently. Joshua got back to winning, while Fury lost against Usyk. Now, both fighters have big matches coming up. Joshua will try to become a three-time world champion when he faces IBF champ Daniel Dubois on September 21. Fury wants to avenge his only career loss against Usyk on December 21.
If both win their fights, we might see Fury vs Joshua in 2025. But for now, Fury says there's no bad blood between them.
In a recent interview with Pro Boxing Fans, Fury shared his thoughts on Joshua:
"Has he ever said anything bad to me personally? I don't think so."
Fury went on to say:
"If he was here now I'd go for a beer with him or a jam sandwich or I'd take him out for fish and chips. I'd take him home to meet my kids and take a picture."
He dismissed the idea of any real rivalry between boxers:
"You think there is bad blood between boxers? Behave yourself."
Despite these friendly words, both fighters have predicted the other will lose their upcoming fights. We'll have to wait and see what happens in the ring.
