Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois will fight for the IBF World Heavyweight Title next month. The two British heavyweights have knocked out 45 opponents in their combined 54 fights.
German boxer Peter Kadiru, who's worked with both fighters, shared his thoughts on their power. Kadiru has been in four or five training camps with Joshua, including the current one. He also fought Dubois as an amateur in 2014, winning by split decision.
Daniel's jab is hard, really hard, but I never saw a right hand like Anthony Joshua's right hand. Really. His right hand is the hardest I got hit with. So they both have really good power. It's hard to tell, but I believe that AJ got more power than Daniel.
Kadiru made these comments in an interview with Pro Boxing Fans. The German fighter, who has a record of 18-1 with 10 KOs, praised Dubois' jab but said Joshua's right hand hit harder than anything he'd felt before.
Dubois, 27, became world champion after Oleksandr Usyk gave up the title. The Ukrainian had to vacate due to a rematch with Tyson Fury. Dubois comes into this fight as the underdog, but he's shown grit and a solid chin in recent wins over Jarrell Miller and Filip Hrgovic.
Joshua has more experience than Dubois. A win would make him a three-time heavyweight world champion. If Joshua wins, he'll likely face the winner of the Fury-Usyk fight. That fight is set for December 21.
The Joshua-Dubois bout will happen on September 21. The location hasn't been announced yet. Both fighters will bring their knockout power to the ring, setting up what should be an action-packed fight for the heavyweight title.
