Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois are getting ready for a big fight. British Heavyweight Champion Fabio Wardley thinks Joshua will knock out Dubois when they meet on September 21 at Wembley Stadium.
The fight got set up after Oleksandr Usyk gave up his IBF belt. Dubois, who was the interim champ, got moved up to full champion. Now Joshua has a chance to become a three-time heavyweight champion if he wins.
Both fighters have bounced back from losses to Usyk. With 45 knockouts between them, not many people think this fight will go all the way to the end.
Wardley knows both fighters well. He sparred with Joshua in 2020 before AJ's fight with Kubrat Pulev. He also worked with Dubois back in 2017 when Dubois was just starting out.
Here's what Wardley said about why he thinks Joshua will win:
"I think AJ wins and I think AJ will stop him. When? Who knows, but I think he's big, he's strong – not to say Daniel isn't at all – but I just think AJ's slightly sharper, been in the game a little bit longer, bit more used to the big stage."
Wardley added:
"Again, not to take away anything from Daniel, he's had some massive fights himself, but just that level of comfort being sat in that kind of moment, I think AJ will rise to that."
Joshua's team thinks he's near the end of his career. But at 26, Dubois is younger and his team believes this fight comes at the right time as he gets mentally stronger.
Dubois has only been the IBF champ for a few months. He'll try to use his experience from other big fights to keep the title. But Joshua's been here before and knows what it takes to win on the big stage.
It's a fight that could go either way. Both guys hit hard and want to prove they're the best. We'll have to wait until September 21 to see who comes out on top.
