Crawford picked up his latest belt at super-welterweight when he beat Israil Madrimov. The win made him a four-division world champion. Meanwhile, Ennis is the new champion at welterweight and wants to collect more belts there. But he's open to moving up in weight too.
A fight between Crawford and Ennis would be one of the best matches in boxing. Both fighters are undefeated and have 60 stoppages between them. They both have fan-friendly styles and can switch between orthodox and southpaw stances.
Roy Jones Jr., a boxing legend, shared his thoughts on this potential fight. He told Mill City Boxing:
"With Terence and Jaron, Jaron is a helluva fighter, make no question about it. That's almost a pick 'em, but because Terence has been pound-for-pound best for so long my pick will probably be Terence early for that reason. He deserves to still be there until somebody beats him. I can't go against him. But Jaron is the guy who definitely has the power and the skill to make something happen if anybody can do it."
Jones thinks it'll be a close fight. He favors Crawford because of his long-standing status as one of the best boxers. But he acknowledges that Ennis has the power and skill to possibly upset Crawford.
Despite the excitement around this potential matchup, Crawford might not take the fight with Ennis. He might only consider moving up in weight to face Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez, the unified super-middleweight champion.
