Gervonta 'Tank' Davis is on the hunt for his next opponent. The WBA lightweight champion has reportedly booked the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas for November 2, but he's still searching for someone to stand across from him in the ring.

Davis and his team initially set their sights on Vasiliy Lomachenko. The two camps started talking, but those conversations didn't go anywhere. Lomachenko pulled out, saying he wasn't feeling up for a return to the ring in 2024.

With Lomachenko out of the picture, Davis' coach Kenny Ellis has his eye on another opponent. In an interview with ES NEWS, Ellis said:

"I would love to fight Shakur [next], I've always said that Shakur and 'Tank' were the best."

A fight between Davis and Shakur Stevenson would be a real treat for boxing fans. It's a clash of styles that could make for an amazing fight. Davis is known for his knockout power. He's got 28 stoppages in 30 fights and can end a fight with just one punch. But he often lets his opponents take charge early on.

Stevenson, on the other hand, is a master boxer. He's all about defense first, hitting without getting hit. At just 27, he's already won world titles in three different weight classes. But some fans aren't thrilled with his recent performances, saying they're not as exciting to watch.

People have been talking about a Davis-Stevenson fight since Stevenson moved up to lightweight last year. But it looks like we might have to wait a bit longer for that one. Word is that Stevenson is close to agreeing to a fight with Joe Cordina, a former super-featherweight champ.

As for Davis, he's coming off a big win. Back in June, he knocked out Frank Martin in the eighth round. Now, he's looking to keep that momentum going. With his punch power and star appeal, 'Tank' is one of boxing's biggest draws right now.

So, while we wait to see who Davis will face next, one thing's for sure: whoever steps into the ring with him on November 2 will have their work cut out for them.
