Gervonta Davis could beat Shakur Stevenson in a potential lightweight bout, according to top trainer Robert Garcia. The clash between these two fighters is getting a lot of attention because of their different styles.
Davis, known as "Tank," has an impressive record of 30 wins and no losses, with 28 knockouts. He's famous for his power punching and his ability to end fights with a single blow. Tank doesn't mind losing a few rounds and often takes shots from his opponents as he stalks them around the ring.
On the other hand, Stevenson is a slick fighter who rarely gets hit. He's already a three-weight world champion at just 27 years old. But he's been criticized lately for not getting enough knockouts in his recent fights.
Garcia, who trains top fighters like Jesse 'Bam' Rodriguez and Vergil Ortiz, shared his thoughts on the potential matchup in an interview with Fight Hype.
"He [Tank] is unbelievable man. I think 'Tank' at this point is unbeatable at the lightweight division against any of the world champions. I think he's the top guy right now in that division, he had a great performance. He has the timing, power, accuracy, everything is great man. He's a perfect fighter right now."
The fight between Davis and Stevenson isn't set in stone yet. Vasiliy Lomachenko recently backed out of talks to face Davis. Meanwhile, there's talk that Stevenson might fight former super-featherweight champion Joe Cordina next.
