Gervonta Davis Coach Reveals Surprising Take on Shakur Stevenson's Next Fight: "He's Not Ready"

Both Stevenson and Davis hold lightweight world titles. They've also won belts in lower weight classes. But for now, they're looking at other opponents.

Davis has been busy. He's fought twice since April 2023. He stopped Ryan Garcia with a body shot that ended the fight. Then, last summer, he knocked out Frank Martin.

Stevenson's recent fights haven't been as exciting. He won by unanimous decision against Edwin De Los Santos and Artem Harutyunyan. But fans and critics weren't impressed. They said he played it too safe.

Stevenson says a hand injury and his opponents' style made those fights less thrilling. He promises to do better against top fighters.

Now, there's talk about Stevenson fighting Zepeda. It might happen at a big event in Riyadh. Gervonta Davis' coach, Kenny Ellis, thinks he knows how it'll go. He told MillCity Boxing:

"I got Shakur boxing the s**t out of Zepeda. Fuck around and get a unanimous decision. He can't match Shakur."

But Stevenson says Zepeda doesn't want to fight him. Instead, he's close to making a deal with Joe Cordina, a former super-featherweight world champion.

We'll have to wait and see who Stevenson ends up fighting next. One thing's for sure – fans want to see if he can live up to his promise of shining against top competition.
