Jalolov won his second consecutive Olympic gold medal

Uzbekistan's Bakhodir Jalolov (14-0, 14 KOs) won his second consecutive Olympic gold medal in the heavyweight division on Saturday in Paris, France. The 30-year-old lefty defeated Ayoub Gadfu of Spain by judges' decision in the final bout. Jalolov had also previously won a gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics.
After the victory, Zhalolov stated that it was his dream to become a two-time Olympic gold medalist and that now that he has done so, he will resume his professional career. In his last professional fight, which took place in November 2023, Zhalolov defeated Chris Thompson of South Africa.
Uzbek fighters dominated the 2024 Olympic boxing competition, winning five of a possible seven gold medals. Cuba and Ukraine took the other two golds.
