Lopez reacted to Usyk's decision to give up the IBF belt

WBO bantamweight champion Teofimo Lopez shared his thoughts on Oleksandr Usyk's decision to relinquish his IBF super bantamweight title.

"They gave up the title because they don't want mandatory challengers that nobody knows at this point in the weight class. It's a business, like I said earlier. You can relinquish titles to these sanctioning bodies.

I should have done that with George Kambososos. After several fight postponements, I should have just given up the fucking belt. Then everyone else's plans would have been in the sh*t. Devin Haney would never have become an absolute world champion. At least, would not have become him so quickly," - said Lopez.

Recall, earlier Usyk announced that he was leaving the IBF title so that Daniel Dubois could fight Anthony Joshua for it. Later, the IBF recognized Dubois as a full-fledged champion, although before that he held a temporary title.
