World Boxing Council (WBC) head Mauricio Sulaiman continues to lobby for the introduction of VAR technology for a potential rematch in December between Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) and Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs).

Previously, the presidents of the three other organizations that sanctioned the Fury-Usyk fight were against VAR. The idea was also rejected by the British Boxing Commission, which oversaw the fight, stating that the interruptions of a few minutes required for video analysis could significantly affect the fight.

Sulaiman also wanted and still wants to increase the number of side judges from three to six. That concept has also been rejected by the other regulatory bodies involved.

Last month, Fury lost to Usyk on points as the Briton lost for the first time as a professional, while Usyk became the first outright heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis in 1999.
