According to Eddie Hearn, it is still unclear whether the IBF heavyweight belt will be at stake in the fight between Filip Hrgovic (17-0, 14 KOs) and Daniel Dubois (20-2, 19 KOs). The Croatian and the Briton are scheduled to meet on June 1 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The International Boxing Federation title is currently held by Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs), who has asked the federation's governing body not to strip him of the trophy due to his refusal to make a mandatory defense against Hrgovic prior to his agreed rematch with Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs).

However, Hearn is convinced that the IBF belt will become vacant before the end of the summer, meaning that Anthony Joshua (28-3, 25 KOs), who he promotes, could fight for it. AJ is set to return to the ring on September 20 or 21 at Wembley Stadium in London with a fight against the winner of the Hrgovic-Dubois meeting.
