Sosnowski: "I don't want Fury to impose dirty boxing on Usyk"

Head coach of the Ukrainian national boxing team Dmytro Sosnovsky shared his expectations from the fight for the title of absolute world champion in heavyweight boxing between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury, which will be held today, May 18, in Riyadh.

- What are the chances of Oleksandr Usyk to defeat Tyson Fury?

- It is difficult for me to comment on such moments. I have already explained that it is easier for me to analyze as a specialist and trainer after the fight. Because I am not in the training camp of the boxer, how they are ready, I do not know.

When cool and highly skilled boxers enter the ring, and Usyk and Fury are the best super heavyweights in the world, and they box for the absolute title, then both have a chance. Each will have their own tactics for the fight, because they are completely different fighters in style, different boxers in anthropometry.

It's hard to say how the match itself will go for each of them. Alexander has his pluses and advantages, which are well known to everyone. The Briton also has his pluses, which everyone knows. Whoever better utilizes their advantage will be the champion.

- What are the strengths of our champion?

- If Sasha will be, as always, well prepared functionally and in good condition, it is clear that Usyk has the advantage of speed in his hands and legs.

Also, Sasha is a quick thinker because he understands boxing tactics well. His advantages are the number of punches he throws, pace, good reaction, decision making in the fight. Compared to Fury, I think the advantage will be on Sasha's side.

- What are Usyk's weaknesses?

- He is more technical boxer, and Fury in the fights that I saw, acted dirty. I don't want the Briton to be able to impose such boxing on Usyk, so Sasha will not go for it.
