WBA Interim Light Heavyweight titlist Dmitry Bivol (11-0, 9 KOs) continued to bolster his credentials as a potential future challenger to the Andre Ward vs. Sergey Kovalev winner with an easy four-round TKO of former light heavyweight title challenger Cedric Agnew (29-3, 15 KOs) in a scheduled ten-round non-title bout on Saturday night at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.
Undefeated Luis Arias (18-0, 9 KOs) retained his USBA middleweight belt with a stoppage victory over Arif Magomedov (18-2, 11 KOs) at 1:16 of round five in a scheduled ten-round bout. Magomedov appeared to have the advantage early behind a consistent left jab and lead left hands. Arias though had repeated success with his right hand, particularly to the body, and seemed to be landing with greater frequency as the bout progressed.
WBA “regular” super middleweight champion Tyron Zeuge (21-0-1, 11 KOs) retained his title with a twelve round unanimous decision over Paul Smith (38-7, 22 KOs) on Saturday night at the Rittal Arena in Wetzlar, Germany. Zeuge outworked Smith and scored a twelfth round knockdown just before the final bell to pull away to a 119-108, 119-108, 119-108 verdict. It was Smith’s third unsuccessful world title attempt.

Khurtsidze was forced to drop out of his July 8th showdown with WBO Middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders due to his arrest.
Two-time Olympic Gold Medalist and new WBC Silver Super Middleweight Champion Claressa Shields (3-0, 1 KO), won by unanimous decision over her opponent Sydney LeBlanc (4-2-1) on Friday night at the Detroit Masonic Temple in the main event of another installment of the “Detroit Brawl” series. On display was Shields’ masterful ability to double up on her jabs and follow them up with right hands to the nose of LeBlanc. Shields proved to be dominant in yet another fight, even though the fight went the distance. LeBlanc never landed a significant punch and allowed Shields to use her as a punching bag for most of the fight. The judges scored the fight 80-72.
