Cuban light heavyweight Sullivan Barrera (21-1, 14 KOs) won a unanimous decision over Felix Valera (15-2, 13 KO). Scores were: 98-88, 97-90, 97-89. Both fighters were knocked down in the first round. In the second round, Barrera earned a cut over the right eye. In the third, sixth and eighth rounds, Valera was fined for low blows. And already Barrera was deducted a point in the ninth round for a blow below the belt.

Gamboa barely overcomes Sosa

In a duel between two former world champions Yuriorkis Gamboa (28-2, 17 KOs) won a majority decision over Jason Sosa (20-3-4, 15 KOs). Scores were: 95-93, 96-92, 94-94. In the seventh round Gamboa was knocked down when his glove touched the floor. In the tenth round, Gamboa was fined one point for holding Sosa. Despite this, the Cuban managed to get a points victory.

Charr drops and beats Ustinov for "regular" WBA belt

In a clash for the vacant WBA regular heavyweight belt Manuel Charr (31-4, 17 KOs) won Alexander Ustinov (34-2, 25 KOs) by unanimous decision rather unexpectedly. The judges' notes were 115-111, 116-111, 115-112.
