John Fury, father of the WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, is sure that his son’s inconclusive victory over Francis Ngannou does not mean at all that Tyson will look bad in the ring in a fight against the holder of the WBA, WBO and WBC belts Alexandra Usika.
“I don’t want to talk about Tyson’s victory over Ngannou. It was a great victory. I can only say that people say stupid things. My son is still the world champion and the best heavyweight fighter by a wide margin.
If they don't believe in him, that's their business. I believe in him. When he gets Usyk, he will dominate the ring and stop him,” Fury said in an interview with Second Out.
The fight between Fury and Usik is expected to take place in February in Riyadh.
