Usik: “Fury’s promoter is up to something tricky, but we have to box on December 23”

WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight champion Alexander Usik (21-0, 14 KOs) commented on the words of promoter Frank Warren that the WBC belt holder Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs) may not be ready to fight on December 23rd.

— Frank Warren said Tyson may need a break and may not be ready by December 23rd. Before this fight, people assumed that you might not be ready for December 23rd, but in 24 hours everything changed.

— You see what happens when lies come to light. Uncle Frank is up to something dodgy, but we have to box on December 23rd. We have a contract. Frank, can you hear me? Frank talks a lot when lies come out.

They take my interviews, take them out of context and turn them around. They pretend that I allegedly said that I need more time to prepare, or less, or that I’m not ready. So they take my interviews out of context. “I’ll be ready,” Usyk said.

Let's remember that Warren said today that he doubts that the fight between Usik and Fury will take place on December 23, as previously planned. He believes the fight could take place early next year or in March.
