British trainer Dave Caldwell shared his thoughts on the fight between the WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight champion Alexander Usik (21-0, 14 KOs) and WBC belt holder Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KO).
“I have to say Fury is the favorite either way. I just assume its size will make the difference. Usyk has all the skills and abilities to beat him. Really owns it.
But I just think the size difference would be too big. Look, Usyk has a long career. He boxed as an amateur for a long time. But his peak remained at cruiserweight. The heavyweight division slowed him down a bit.
I think the size difference will be too big for him, but I can’t wait for the fight,” Caldwell told the Pro Boxing Fans YouTube channel.
The Usyk-Fury fight could take place on December 23 or in January in Saudi Arabia.
